Compact Heaters for Small Rooms

If you have no room in your home for a large radiator, there are several things you can do. The first is to have a look at vertical radiators that climb up the wall rather than stretch along it, you will save much wall space.

The second option is to have a look at compact radiators. These dinky ones can come up to speed in heating a room, so long as it is not too large a space.  In modern homes this will probably not be much of a problem. The rooms in new builds are generally smaller than in period homes.

This is because land prices are at a premium and homes had to become smaller in order to fit the same amount of rooms on a smaller plot.

Let’s have a look at baseboard heaters. These consist of a convector part which circulates heat throughout the room. A coil of piping brings in the water and because they are constructed in such a way that they prolong the flow of water. This gives the radiator time enough to the heat the air in the room.

The coils have been fitted with fins. These are heated up by the coils and cool air drawn into the bottom of the radiator is heated up by the fins. The whole process goes on until the room has reached the desired temperature.

Unlike some slim line radiators that also save space, the baseboard heaters also save space by being very low on the ground along skirting boards. As you can see, they are very suitable for rooms that have too little space to fit a conventional radiator.

It is surprising to learn that this kind of central heating radiator is more efficient than most other slim-line heater. They seem to surround the room with warmth much better than a radiator that sits on one wall, whether vertical or horizontal.

On most websites you will find a BTU calculator. You will find that this particular heater is a match for any other.
